Exceptional stories, exceptional people, and exceptional recipes are the ones that made it into print. Whether it be a wonderful dish from the Oklahoma Panhandle or a duck hunting story from an oxbow slough along the Sulphur River, it was my intention to thoroughly entice you into trying it. There is no experience like actually being there. My modest offerings are just that and are not intended to be any more. The people portrayed in my stories are the country people, the ranch people, the farm people, the common people, the salt of the earth: there are none any better. The settings for these stories were most wonderful, and the explanations are only limited by my lack of skill in presenting them to you as such. My desire is for the reader to enjoy them half as much as they were enjoyed, living them. I am a Christian, American patriot, short story writer, hunter, big bass fisherman/guide, husband, father, retired school administrator, agriculture teacher, agronomist, philosopher, naturalist, romanticist, and most importantly, Pop-Pop to my darling granddaughters, Phoenix and Scarlett.
